Sol’s show on Wednesday evenings between 5pm and 7pm is a lively mix of music from the 60’s and 70’s including his specialities, soul music, early rock n' roll, and blues. His programme features stories about the different artistes and their recording careers.

 

Sol has been playing music to live audiences (away from radio) since the late 1960’s and 2024 is 55 years since he started in a pub in East London. He has seen many famous bands and artistes live over the years. He still occasionally organises “vinyl” fundraising discos for Mid Downs Radio and other charities. Sol has a very eclectic taste in music, well beyond that which he plays on his show and regularly attends classical music concerts, opera and the theatre.
