Haywards Heath Town Day

Haywards Heath was bathed in sunshine for the return of Town Day and all the hard work of the organisers and participants was rewarded by a great turnout. Mid Downs Radio was represented by Wendy Swinton-Eagle, Mopsy Whitworth, Linda Wishart, Mark Holder and Arnie Wilson with the invaluable support of Robbie Randall. We were blessed with the company of Cylvian Flynn who gave an outstanding singing performance as a guest of the Simply Redhead show which attracted lots of people.

Mopsy read the delightful The Crocodile who Couldn’t Swim written and illustrated by another of our guests Lee Attard , Linda performed some of Arnie Wilson’s Limericks and the amazing 90 year old Fran read some poems from her amusingly observant poetry book which she is selling to raise funds for the NHS.

A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to a really successful outing for MDR and to Rebecca Stevens and the team from the Town Council for the brilliant organisation of the event.
